Export your played history in Traktor.

Traktor logs every track you play in the History list in the Browser Tree, and writes that session to a file labeled with its date and time when the app closes. To keep one, right-click History and choose Export Playlist before you quit, or open the Archive folder under Explorer afterwards and use Import to Playlists.

Export your played history in Traktor, step by step.

Traktor records what you played on its own, but it keeps that record in two places: a live list during the session and a dated file afterwards. Here is how to get at both.

Open the History list

While you play, Traktor lists the tracks you have played in the History Playlist in the Browser Tree. Click it to see the running order for tonight. This list covers the current session only, so treat it as live and temporary rather than something that stays put.

Export the session before you quit

Right-click the History playlist in the Browser Tree and choose Export Playlist. Traktor asks for a name and a destination path, then writes a folder that holds the playlist data together with the track files, which is what makes it usable on another computer. Confirm to finish.

Save a readable tracklist as a webpage

For a tracklist you can send to a promoter or paste into a post, right-click the playlist and choose Save as Webpage instead. Enter a name and a destination, then pick which columns to include from List Options. Traktor writes an HTML file that opens in any browser.

Find an older session in Explorer, Archive

When you open Traktor again, the History list in the Browser Tree is cleared. Earlier sessions live in the Archive folder inside the Explorer node of the Browser, named after the date and time they were created and sorted from oldest to newest. Open the date you want and the tracklist is there.

Grab the file on your drive

The same sessions sit on disk as files labeled with date and time. On Windows, look in My Documents\Native Instruments\Traktor\History. On macOS, look in Users/~/Native Instruments/Traktor/History. Copy the ones you care about into your backups, or hand a file to another Traktor machine to open it there.

Import a session back into your collection

Right-click an archived history playlist and choose Import to Collection to add its tracks to your Track Collection. Choose Import to Playlists instead and the session arrives as a normal playlist you can rename, reorder, and build on. That is how a good night turns into a set you can play again.

The catch

Traktor stores the session in a History Playlist file when it gets closed, and clears the list in the Browser Tree the next time you open the app. There is no auto-save while you play, so exporting the session before you quit is the safer habit.

The playlists you built yourself live under the Playlists folder in the Browser Tree, not in your computer's folders. Played sessions are separate: the current one is the History list, and finished ones are in the Archive folder inside the Explorer node. If a playlist is missing from the tree, check that Traktor opened the collection you expect. Manage playlists and folders in Traktor walks through the whole tree.
If the list that vanished was your played history, nothing is broken. Traktor clears the History list in the Browser Tree every time you reopen the app, by design. The session itself is kept in the Archive folder under Explorer, named after its date and time. Right-click the date you want and choose Import to Playlists to bring it back as a normal playlist you can keep.
On Windows it is in My Documents\Native Instruments\Traktor\History. On macOS it is in Users/~/Native Instruments/Traktor/History. That is how the app behaves, not a fault. After closing Traktor the History Playlist is cleared, so it starts empty on the next launch. Your earlier sessions are still there, in the dedicated Archive folder within the Explorer node of the Browser, named after their date and time and sorted from oldest to newest. Open the most recent date to see what you played.
There is no setting that keeps the live list filled across launches. Traktor already stores each session as its own dated file when the app closes, so the saving happens, just into the Archive instead of the list you were watching. If you want the session as a working playlist, export it before you quit, or import the archived copy afterwards.
Yes. Right-click the Playlists folder in the Browser Tree and choose Create Smartlist, then filter on Play Count, Last Played Date, or Played This Session. The list keeps itself up to date as you play, so you can see what is getting worn out. Right-click its name and choose Save As Playlist to freeze a copy. Both do, in their own way. Rekordbox collects play histories in the Histories folder in the Media Browser, including ones imported from a USB device. Engine DJ adds History lists from connected drives to your collection and lets you import them as playlists by right-click. The steps differ per app: see Rekordbox and Engine DJ.
