Vibes analyzes BPM, key in Camelot, musical or Open Key display, the energy curve and the section points of every track. Where a tempo read is off for a half-time genre, fix it per track in Track Inspector or bulk re-analyze the folder.

There is no single answer, and every list is regional. A Miami room, a Bogota room and a New York salsa social all crown different names. The ones who last are the ones who read the floor: they know when the room wants bachata instead of reggaeton, and their library is organized well enough to turn on a request. Copy the preparation, not the name.
The names that come up most are Serato DJ Pro, rekordbox and VirtualDJ, with Traktor Pro and Engine DJ close behind, and none of them is Latin specific. Pick the one your gear and your venues run. Then set its analysis tempo range to match your music, so half-time genres are not counted at double speed. Serato DJ Pro documents exactly that range setting. VirtualDJ is free for non-professional use.
It is the habit of thinking in 32 beat blocks, eight bars of four, because most dance records change on those boundaries. Start a blend at the top of a block and both records stay in phase. Latin music rewards a second layer of counting: salsa and bachata phrase against the clave and the dancers' basic step, so land your changes where the dancers turn, not only where the grid says.
It is the old radio convention that a song should land its hook inside about three minutes. Latin floors ignore it. Full length salsa and timba tracks often run well past six minutes, and the montuno is the part dancers wait for. Play the long version while the floor is dancing, keep a shorter edit for when you need to move the room, and mark the section points in your library.
The limit DJs run into is not a ban. You cannot mix a Spotify stream inside DJ software: Serato's list of supported streaming services covers Tidal, Beatport, Beatsource (merging into Beatport through 2026), SoundCloud Go+ and Apple Music, and Spotify is not on it. Tag on three axes instead of one: rhythm, tempo family, and who is on the floor. Then a request for something slower is one filter, not a scroll through thousands of files.
