Digital record pools for DJs, compared.
A record pool is a subscription that gives DJs a daily feed of promo-ready audio to download: clean and explicit versions, DJ intros, instrumentals, acapellas and exclusive remixes, tagged and ready to drop into DJ software. The detail most roundups skip is that it is a promotional service rather than a store, so you pay for the flow of new releases while the plan runs and keep the files you already pulled. Below: five sources whose prices and terms we could verify on their own pages, and how to spot a licensed pool from a mirror site.

The pool solves where the music comes from. The library is still yours to keep straight.
Five sources, compared.
A DJ record pool is a subscription-based service that hands you a library of tracks to download: exclusive edits, remixes, clean and explicit versions, instrumentals and acapellas, refreshed daily. The five below are the sources whose formats, catalog and plan terms are stated on their own sites. We make Vibes, a library tool, not a music service, so none of these is ours.
| Option | Strengths | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| BPM SupremeBest for Open-format DJs who want the deepest licensed catalog |
|
|
Our verdict The safe pick if you play requests and need every version of a record on the night. Just decide up front whether you truly need both libraries, because that decision, not the tier, is what moves the bill. | ||
| DJcityBest for Hip-hop, R&B and club DJs who want files that land ready in Serato |
|
|
Our verdict The least friction between download and gig, because the metadata and Serato markers are already there. Worth the higher monthly rate if your prep time is the thing you are short of. | ||
| Digital DJ PoolBest for Independent house, electronic, hip-hop and R&B at the lowest price here |
|
|
| Crate ConnectBest for DJs who want lossless files sitting next to the MP3s |
|
|
| Free Music ArchiveBest for Royalty-free and Creative Commons tracks for content, not club sets |
|
|
| At a glance | Pricing | Model |
|---|---|---|
| BPM Supreme | Standard $24.99/mo or $224/yr, Premium $34.99/mo or $314/yr, both libraries $69.99/mo | Subscription, priced per library |
| DJcity | $34.99 for one month, $175 for six months, $10 first month for new users | Subscription |
| Digital DJ Pool | $9.99 per month or $89.99 per year | Subscription, one plan |
| Crate Connect | Plans from $22, as low as $16.50 per month on longer blocks | Subscription in 30, 90 or 180 day blocks |
| Free Music Archive | Free | Open and Creative Commons licenses |
How we compared, and what is not here.
We listed only sources that state their pricing, formats and catalog on their own site or help centre, and we quote those pages rather than other people's roundups. Where you download music for DJ sets is a spending decision that repeats every month, so a figure you cannot check on the vendor's own page is worth nothing.
Names you will meet in any list of the best DJ record pools but not in ours: zipDJ, Digital Music Pool, Heavy Hits, Club Killers, Direct Music Service and MyMP3Pool. They are missing here because their sites return nothing to an automated check or block it outright, so we could not confirm a current price or plan term. Look them up on their own signup pages before subscribing.
Searches for free DJ record pools mostly land on sites reposting other pools' files. Those downloads are not licensed, the tags are usually stripped, and the bitrate is often a re-encode of a re-encode. If budget is the constraint, the cheapest real pool plus one Creative Commons source beats a mirror site every time.
What separates the best DJ pools.
Licensing you can play
A real pool is a promotional channel: labels and distributors supply it so DJs will play the record. That is what makes the download safe to use in a paid room. A site that mirrors other pools' files has no such arrangement, whatever it calls itself.
Format and metadata
320 kbps MP3 is the floor, and a couple of pools add lossless WAV on selected releases. The bigger time saver is what is already filled in: artist, title, BPM, genre, sometimes cue points and beatgrids. Every field missing is a field you type.
Coverage against your room
Pools specialize. Some are open format and request-driven, some are independent and electronic, some are strongest in Latin, UK or Asian catalogs. Pick for the floor you actually play, not the one with the biggest number on the homepage.
What the plan really costs
Watch three things: whether libraries are priced separately, whether the cheap tier gates features you need, and whether the term is monthly, annual or a fixed block. Introductory first months are common, so trial before you commit to a year.
One organized library, every app.
Vibes imports from and exports to Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, and Engine DJ, so the software you pick is never a lock-in.

How we keep this honest.
Verified against the source
Every claim about each app is checked against its official site and current pricing.
We own our bias
We make Vibes, a library tool, not DJ mixing software. The picks above are independent, and we recommend the app that fits you, not the one paired with us.
