Set quantize (beat snap) in Rekordbox.

Quantize is a snap-to-grid setting. With it on, every hot cue and loop you set lands on the nearest beat of the track's beatgrid instead of the exact moment you pressed the button. That keeps loops tight and cues on the downbeat even when your timing is slightly late. It works per deck and depends entirely on the beatgrid being right, so a drifting grid needs fixing first.

There are two places. The on/off switch is the [Q] button in the deck's JOG panel, one per deck, which lights up red when quantize is active. The beat value it snaps to lives in Preferences: click the settings icon in the upper-right, choose Controller, then open the Others tab and look under [Type]. Preferences control how fine the snap is, while the deck button controls whether snapping happens at all.

Click the lit [Q] button on the deck once and it goes dark for that deck only, unless you chose [All Decks] in Preferences. The other deck keeps its own setting. Turning quantize off is useful when you want to place a cue by ear on a track with a sloppy grid, or when you are doing scratch or drop tricks where snapping gets in the way. Turn it back on the same way, per deck, at any time.

No. Quantize is a live performance feature inside Rekordbox and must be configured and toggled there. Vibes is a prep and library tool. It contributes pre-placed cue points and a clear read on which tracks have a shaky tempo, so you know where quantize can be trusted.

Start with 1 beat for most house and techno mixing. Drop to 1/2 or 1/4 if you want to place cues mid-beat, for example on an offbeat snare or a half-bar phrase. A smaller value gives more flexibility but also more room for small timing slips to go unnoticed, and any fraction setting turns off BEAT SYNC for that deck.

A drifting or misaligned beatgrid is almost always the cause. Rekordbox can analyze BPM correctly but still place the downbeat one beat off, so the grid looks close but every snap lands on the wrong note. Fix the grid in the [GRID] panel in EXPORT mode or the [GRID EDIT] panel in PERFORMANCE mode. Vibes will not do that for you, but its own beat analysis shows you which tracks read wrong, so you know which ones to open.
