A Mixo DJ alternative for every part of the job.
Mixo is a cloud DJ library: the free desktop tier imports from nearly all DJ apps, edits metadata, cues and ratings, and builds playlists, while syncing across devices, the mobile apps and export back to your DJ software all sit behind the Gold subscription at $7 a month. The replacements split that job up: Lexicon for free conversion between DJ apps plus a mobile app of its own, rekordbox Cloud Library Sync if you stay inside one ecosystem, Crate Hackers if you want cleanup and curation handed to you, and a one-time offline organizer if you would rather own the tool than rent the cloud.

One library, on your own drive, exported to the app you play on.
The alternatives, compared.
Mixo bundles four jobs into one subscription: organizing a library, converting it between DJ apps, syncing it across machines through your own cloud storage, and carrying it on a phone. No single tool below does all four, so start with the part you actually use. One of the picks, Vibes, is ours, and it is the narrowest of the four.
| Option | Strengths | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| LexiconBest for Converting and cleaning a library across DJ apps, with a mobile app on paid plans |
|
|
Our verdict The closest thing to a straight swap. Lexicon covers the conversion, cleanup, and mobile parts of what Mixo does, and the conversion half costs nothing, so you can test it against your real library before paying anything. | ||
| rekordbox Cloud Library SyncBest for DJs who play only on rekordbox and just want one library on several machines |
|
|
Our verdict If sync between your studio machine and your laptop was the only reason you paid for Gold, and you never leave rekordbox, the feature is already sitting in the app. Check the plan table first: device counts and cloud track counts differ per tier. | ||
| Crate HackersBest for DJs who want library cleanup, crates, and sourcing handed to them as a service |
|
|
Our verdict This one trades money for time. If your problem is a messy library you never get around to fixing, and the streaming and record pool side matters to you, it is a fair deal; if you only wanted Mixo's sync, it is a large monthly bill for the wrong half. | ||
|
| |
Our verdict Pick Vibes if the part of Mixo you used was organizing and preparing, not moving the library around. It tags by mood and energy, sorts by energy flow, and writes playlists back to Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, and Engine DJ. It replaces none of the sync. | ||
| At a glance | Pricing | Model |
|---|---|---|
| Lexicon | Free conversion; Essential $9.99 per month or $199 lifetime | Freemium, subscription or lifetime |
| rekordbox Cloud Library Sync | Free plan; Core, Creative, and Professional subscriptions, Cloud option extra | Subscription with a free tier |
| Crate Hackers | $15 first month, then $30 per month; $197 first year, renews at $297 | Membership subscription |
| $49 one-time | One-time |
How we compared them.
Four questions decided the picks. Does it read and write the DJ app you actually play on, in both directions? Does it cover the part of Mixo's job you would miss: conversion, sync, cleanup, or set prep? Where does the library live, on your drive, in your own cloud storage, or on a vendor's servers? And what does it cost across three years, once a subscription compounds?
Prices and plan details come from each vendor's own pricing page, checked on August 26, 2026. Where a vendor shows regional pricing rather than a single figure, we describe the model instead of pinning a number that would be wrong for half of the readers.
There is no single winner, because Mixo bundles several jobs. Lexicon replaces the conversion and cleanup half and brings its own mobile app. rekordbox Cloud Library Sync replaces the sync half for people who never leave that ecosystem. Crate Hackers replaces sourcing and curation. Vibes, our own tool, replaces the organize-and-prep half and none of the sync. Name the job first, then pick.
What to check before you switch.
Where the library lives
Mixo syncs through your own Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox rather than a vendor database, and it states you can sync as many computers as you like. A local tool keeps everything on your drive and needs no account. Decide whether you want a cloud account in the chain at all.
Rent or own
Mixo, rekordbox, and Crate Hackers are subscriptions, Lexicon offers both subscription and lifetime, and Vibes is a one-time purchase. Check what happens when payment stops: Lexicon, for example, falls back to demo mode and can no longer sync to a DJ app.
Which apps it writes back to
Import is the easy half. What matters is export: playlists, cues, and ratings landing in the app you play on. Mixo lists twelve apps, Lexicon converts six DJ apps plus iTunes, and Vibes writes back to Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, and Engine DJ.
One organized library, every app.
Vibes imports from and exports to Rekordbox, Serato, Traktor, and Engine DJ, so the software you pick is never a lock-in.

Methodology
How we keep this honest.
Verified against the source
Every claim about each app is checked against its official site and current pricing.
We own our bias
We make Vibes, a library tool, not DJ mixing software. The picks above are independent, and we recommend the app that fits you, not the one paired with us.
Live pricing
The Vibes price shown comes straight from our checkout, never a hardcoded marketing number.
