Analyze tracks in Rekordbox.

Normal is meant for tracks with a relatively consistent tempo and works within the BPM Range you set. Dynamic is meant for tracks with significant tempo changes, like live recordings or older records. A third mode, Auto, appears once Use high precision BeatGrid analysis is on. Pick the mode in Preferences before you start a batch, because the whole queue runs with whatever is selected at the time. To check one file before it ever reaches Rekordbox, the browser key and BPM finder reads its tempo and key without importing anything.

Analysis sometimes locks onto a half-time or double-time feel, which is common with drum and bass, dub, and slower hip hop. Load the track, open the GRID panel, and use Double the BPM or Halve the BPM, or re-analyze in Normal mode with the correct BPM Range set in Preferences. Vibes lets you edit BPM and exports the corrected value back.

Click into your Collection, click the track list, press Ctrl+A (Cmd+A on Mac) to select every track, right-click the selection, and choose Analyze Track. Rekordbox works through the batch with a progress indicator beside each file name, so expect it to take a while on a large library. Rekordbox spells the menu item Analyze Track, so that is the wording to look for whether you analyse all tracks in Rekordbox or analyze them.

Select the tracks, right-click, and choose Analyze Track again. Rekordbox runs a fresh pass with whatever is set in Preferences, so change the analysis mode, BPM Range, or KEY setting first if one of those caused the problem. A fresh pass overwrites a beat grid you corrected by hand, unless the track has Analysis Lock on, in which case it is skipped. Re-analyse tracks in Rekordbox selectively rather than running the whole Collection again.

Yes, with a Spotify Premium account. Rekordbox 7 supports Spotify alongside Beatport Streaming, SoundCloud Go+/DJ, TIDAL, and Apple Music (Beatsource was folded into Beatport). Spotify tracks are analyzed when you load them to a deck; the Analyze Track menu item is not available for them, and to re-analyze one you remove it from the Collection and load it from Spotify again. Spotify tracks cannot be played offline or exported to USB.

On top of BPM, key, and waveform, Vibes produces an energy curve and structural cue points for sections like the intro, drop, and breakdown, which it can export back into Rekordbox. The analysis runs on your own machine, no account needed, and the energy curve tells you something about a track that the raw waveform does not.
