Edit track info in Rekordbox.

It depends which kind of edit you mean. For tags, select the track in [Collection], right-click, choose [Show information], open the [Info] tab and type into Title, Artist, Album, Genre or Comments. For the audio itself, rekordbox has a separate EDIT mode that edits a track and renders it as a new audio file. On the Free or Core plan you can use the track edit function but not render, which needs the Creative or Professional plan. For one stubborn file you would rather fix outside the library, the browser MP3 tagger writes the tags directly, then Rekordbox picks the change up on the next scan.

In rekordbox, use the track information window: select the track, right-click, choose [Show information], open the [Info] tab and edit from your keyboard. The change lives in the rekordbox library, not in the file, so it does not travel with the track into another app. The same job comes up in Serato, Traktor and Engine DJ, each with its own library copy.

Open the track information window on the track, click the [Info] tab and type the new name into the Title field. If you want the file on disk renamed, rekordbox is the wrong tool: it edits its own library entry. Rename the file in the Finder or Explorer, then point rekordbox at the new path with [Relocate], which you reach by right-clicking a track marked with [!] in [Collection].

If [Preferences] > [Analysis] > [Track Analysis] > [Auto Analysis] is set to [Enable], analysis starts as soon as a file lands in [Collection]. If it is set to [Disable], select the tracks and choose [Analyze Track] from the [Track] menu or the right-click menu. Under [Track Analysis Setting] you pick what gets analyzed: [BPM / Grid], [KEY], [Phrase] and [Vocal]. Already analyzed tracks can be run again.

Three documented causes cover most of it. The track has [Analysis Lock] set, which disables re-analysis and grid editing and skips the track during batch analysis. The track comes from a streaming service, where rekordbox states that track information cannot be edited. Or your computer is connected to PRO DJ LINK equipment, which blocks beat grid adjustment while the link is live.

Check [Auto Analysis] first: with it set to [Disable], nothing is analyzed until you run [Analyze Track] yourself. Then check the tracks. A file marked with [!] is missing and needs [Relocate] from the Missing File Manager. Tracks carrying [Analysis Lock] are skipped by design. And rekordbox reports that analysis failed when there is not enough memory available, which its FAQ answers by closing other applications first.

A [?] beside a track means it was analyzed by an older version of rekordbox and its information is insufficient or old. Right-click the track and select [Add New Analysis Data] to update it, and the [?] disappears. It is not the same as [Analyze Track]: use it to bring old library entries up to date, and use [Analyze Track] when you want the BPM, grid or key measured again.

There is no library analysis step for stems. Separation happens on the deck in PERFORMANCE mode: open [Preferences] > [Extensions] > [STEMS], tick [Enable the STEMS Function], then choose [3 Stems (VOCAL, INST, DRUMS)] or [4 Stems (VOCAL, INST, BASS, DRUMS)] under [STEMS Mode]. [STEMS Analysis Process] is the only quality control, where [Prioritize sound quality] trades speed for a cleaner split. Vibes does not separate stems, so this one stays in rekordbox.

Analysis Lock is the usual cause. The manual is explicit: when a track carries the Analysis Lock icon in the track list, you cannot select [Analyze Track]. Right-click the track and turn [Analysis Lock] off, or clear it from the [GRID] panel in the [1 PLAYER] layout. Streaming tracks are the other case, and on Spotify tracks rekordbox states that the [Analyze Track] option is not available.

Not in the track information window, which the manual documents as a per-track edit. Sorting a column finds the bad rows, but it does not change them. Bulk work is where a tag editor or a library tool earns its keep: Vibes recomputes BPM, key, energy and sections across a whole selection in one pass, and pairs well with a wider library clean-up.
