Add comments to tracks in Rekordbox.
Select the track, click the track information icon, open the [Info] tab in the window that appears on the right of the track list, and type your comment. To edit it straight in the track list instead, right-click any column header and tick [Comments], then turn on [Edit Library] in Preferences so you can double-click the cell. Cue points carry their own separate comments, in the [MEMORY] and [HOT CUE] panels under the player.

Add comments to tracks in Rekordbox, step by step.
Rekordbox keeps a free-text comment on every track, plus a separate comment on every saved cue point. Here is how to add comments in rekordbox 7, where to see them, and how to stop a tag reload from wiping them.
Show the Comments column in the track list
Click [Collection] in [Media Browser] so your tracks fill the track list. Right-click any column on the header and the full column list appears. Click [Comments] to put it on the header, then drag the header left or right to move the column where you want it. You now see the field you are about to fill in.
Turn on Edit Library so the cells accept typing
Open the [Preferences] window from the settings icon and go to the [Advanced] category. [Edit Library] lets you edit names and track information by double-clicking the playlist name, folder name, or any item in the track list. Turn it on. If [Library Protection] is on, turn it off: it exists to stop accidental edits to track information.
Type the comment in the track information window
This is the documented route and it works with or without the column showing. Select the track to be edited, then click the track information icon. The track information window opens on the right side of the track list. Click the [Info] tab, type your comment from the keyboard, and close the window when you are done.
Or edit the Comments cell in place
With [Edit Library] on, double-click the Comments cell for a track in the track list and type there instead. It is the faster route when you are working down a playlist and want the neighbouring BPM, key, and rating columns in view while you write. The two routes write the same field.
Comment your cue points as well
Load the track into the player panel and open the playback track sub-information panel. The [MEMORY] panel lists saved cue and loop points, and each one takes its own comment. The [HOT CUE] panel does the same for Hot Cues. In PERFORMANCE mode, right-click a Hot Cue pad to enter comments and change the color. Depending on the DJ player, the edited comment can be displayed.
Let My Tag fill the column for you
If you already use My Tag, open the [Preferences] window > [Advanced] category > [Browse] tab > [My Tag] and select [Add “My Tag” to the “Comments”]. Every tag you attach to a track is then written into the comment column in the track list too, so you type once and label many.
Do not reload the tag afterwards
Right-clicking a track and choosing [Reload Tag] reads the ID3 tag from the file again, and so does the reload icon in the track information window. The manual is blunt about what follows: after reloading tag information, edited track information is replaced with the reloaded information. Keep reloads for tracks you have not commented yet.
The catch
The documented route edits one selected track at a time, so a few hundred tracks means a few hundred passes through the same window. Rekordbox also does not document writing your edited comment back into the file's own tag, which is why [Reload Tag] can replace it with whatever the file still says.
