Setting hotcues in Traktor.

Traktor gives you hotcue slots on the CUE page that you set manually while listening, storing cue points and loops per track.

01

Open the CUE page

On the deck's advanced panel, open the CUE page to see the hotcue buttons for the loaded track. The advanced panel also has MOVE and GRID pages; CUE is the one for managing cue points.

02

Set a hotcue

Play or scroll to the spot you want, then click an empty hotcue button to store the cue point at that position. The button lights up once a cue is stored. Hardware controller pads trigger and store hotcues the same way.

03

Set the cue type

On the CUE page, use the Cue Type drop-down to assign a type to each hotcue, for example a Load Marker at the intro or a standard Cue at the drop. Colors are assigned automatically by type (blue for a regular cue, yellow for a load marker, green for a loop) and cannot be set independently.

04

Save to the track

Hotcues are stored per track in Traktor's NML library, so they are there next time you load the track.

The catch

Traktor has no automatic structural cueing, so every cue is placed by hand, one track at a time, across the whole collection.

The faster way

Auto-detect the structure.

Vibes analyzes each track and marks the intro, buildup, drop, breakdown, and outro automatically, then exports those cue points into Traktor so the structure is ready before you play.

Export the cue points back into Traktor

Organize in Vibes, export to Traktor.

Your playlists, tags, ratings, and cue points travel back to the gear you play on, so nothing you do in Vibes is locked away.

Frequently asked questions

The honest answers, including the trade-offs.

No. Traktor hotcues are set manually on the CUE page. There is no native intro, drop, or breakdown detection, so structural cues are placed by hand.
Yes. Vibes auto-detects structural points, the intro, buildup, drop, breakdown, and outro, and exports them into Traktor as cue points, so the prep is done before you load a track.
You can. Vibes handles the structural prep automatically, and you remain free to add or adjust custom hotcues in Traktor.
