Use SoundCloud with Rekordbox.

To add SoundCloud to rekordbox, switch to PERFORMANCE mode and click [Log in] next to [SoundCloud] in the tree view of the browser panel, then sign in to an account that carries SoundCloud Go+ or SoundCloud DJ. Go+ streams online only, SoundCloud DJ can store tracks for offline play, and neither plan lets you export a streamed track to USB or record it.

Use SoundCloud in Rekordbox, step by step.

SoundCloud runs in PERFORMANCE mode only, and it needs a paid SoundCloud plan for anything beyond the free playlists. Here is how to link SoundCloud to rekordbox, and how to connect SoundCloud to rekordbox 7 after the 2026 audio format change.

Update rekordbox before anything else

SoundCloud changed its audio file format. AlphaTheta's notice states that rekordbox for Mac and Windows ver. 7.2.9 and earlier, and ver. 4.6.1 and earlier for iOS and Android, cannot load SoundCloud tracks after June 30, 2026. On Mac and Windows, open the Help menu and choose [rekordbox Update Manager]. On mobile, update from the App Store or Google Play.

Open PERFORMANCE mode and find the SoundCloud tree

Check that [PERFORMANCE] is selected in the upper-left corner of the screen. SoundCloud on rekordbox sits in the tree view of the browser panel on the left, alongside your Collection and Playlists. To try it without paying, click [Free] next to [SoundCloud] and the Free DJ Playlists load. Those tracks are not displayed again after you close rekordbox.

Log in to a Go+ or SoundCloud DJ account

Click [Log in] next to [SoundCloud] in the tree view, then click [Sign in to your SoundCloud account]. Your web browser opens the SoundCloud sign in window. Log in to an account with a SoundCloud Go+ or SoundCloud DJ subscription; an account without one cannot load tracks. Once it completes, [Likes], [Playlists], [Albums], [Following], [History] and [Charts] appear in rekordbox.

Set the streaming audio quality

rekordbox SoundCloud audio quality is chosen in [Preferences] > [Advanced] > [Others] > [SoundCloud]. Pick [High Quality 256kbps (AAC)] for gigs and drop to a standard setting only when the connection is unreliable. Streamed tracks are analyzed for BPM, key and waveform once they load, so give a fresh playlist a moment before you count on the key readings.

Store tracks offline if you have SoundCloud DJ

With SoundCloud DJ, rekordbox can keep tracks on the computer and play them without internet. Select a track, right-click it and choose [Store Offline], then find everything saved under [Downloads] in the tree view. SoundCloud DJ offline storage expires: rekordbox states that stored tracks are deleted once 30 days pass without an internet connection. Go+ has no offline playback at all.

Know what a streamed track can never do

rekordbox's streaming guide lists the limits plainly. Streaming tracks cannot be played in LINK EXPORT or EXPORT mode, cannot be USB exported, cannot be recorded, cannot be loaded to a sampler slot, and their track information cannot be edited. There is no path from SoundCloud to rekordbox as a file you own, and no setting changes that.

The catch

SoundCloud rekordbox streaming is a rental, not a library. If your subscription lapses, a track leaves the catalog, or the venue's internet drops, every streamed track in your set goes with it. Keep the music you truly depend on as files you own, analyzed and exported to a USB drive.

Switch to PERFORMANCE mode, click [Log in] next to [SoundCloud] in the tree view of the browser panel, then click [Sign in to your SoundCloud account] and sign in through the browser window that opens. That is the whole route to get SoundCloud on rekordbox. The account has to carry Go+ or DJ, otherwise the tree appears but no tracks load.
There is nothing to activate beyond logging in, but the version decides whether login works at all. rekordbox 6 can no longer sign in to SoundCloud after a login specification change, and 7.0.6 and earlier lost login too. That makes SoundCloud rekordbox 7, kept current through [rekordbox Update Manager] in the Help menu, the only combination that still connects.
There are three usual causes for rekordbox SoundCloud not showing. You are in EXPORT mode, where streaming services other than Beatport Streaming cannot be used. Your rekordbox is too old, so the login fails or the entry never appears. Or you signed in to an account without Go+ or DJ, so the tree loads but the tracks will not. Check the mode first, then update.
Yes, with two subscriptions: SoundCloud Go+ and the SoundCloud DJ plan. Go+ streams while you are online, SoundCloud DJ adds offline storage on top. rekordbox documents only those two, so there is no separate SoundCloud DJ Pro tier to hunt for. A free account still gets the Free DJ Playlists, which load without a subscription and disappear when you close the app.
Yes, inside a DJ app that supports it, and with real limits. You can stream, cue, loop and mix SoundCloud tracks in PERFORMANCE mode, but you cannot record the set, cannot export those tracks to USB, and cannot play them from CDJs in EXPORT mode. It suits a laptop gig on solid internet. The same wall stands around Spotify in rekordbox.
For finding music it is strong: edits, bootlegs, remixes and unreleased material that never reach the main stores live there. For a set you have to deliver reliably it is weaker, because uploads get taken down, mastering quality varies, and streaming tops out at 256kbps AAC rather than a file. Plan differences are broken down in SoundCloud Go for DJs.
Only partly. The Free DJ Playlists load in rekordbox with no subscription, but rekordbox shows an advertisement screen after every three of those tracks, and they are gone once you close the app. Everything else needs Go+ or DJ. SoundCloud publishes the SoundCloud DJ subscription price, and any SoundCloud DJ student rate, on its own plans page, because it varies by country.
Right-click [SoundCloud] in the tree view of the browser panel and select [Log out]. That is the full answer to how to log out of SoundCloud on rekordbox, and it is the same panel you signed in from. Log out before handing the laptop to another DJ, and remember that anything stored offline under SoundCloud DJ depends on that account staying active.
A rekordbox SoundCloud login error is usually the version, not the password. SoundCloud changed its login specification, which broke sign-in on rekordbox 6 and on 7.0.6 and earlier. It then changed its audio format, so builds up to 7.2.9 stopped loading tracks after June 30, 2026. Update through [rekordbox Update Manager], then re-analyze your SoundCloud tracks and set their cues again.
