What a Music Visualizer Is For

A music visualizer turns audio into motion so a track has something to watch, not just hear. For DJs and producers that mostly means two things: promo clips for a set or a new release, and audiograms for social. A 15 to 60 second loop of a drop, cut to a square or vertical frame with the title on it, is the fastest way to make a release feel alive on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube without hiring a motion designer. This tool builds that clip from the actual audio, in your browser, with nothing uploaded.

Two of the presets read frequency bands and two read the waveform, so you can match the look to the track. Spectrum draws a smoothed curve of the frequency content on a log scale, so bass, mids, and highs each get their own space instead of the low end swallowing the whole width. Bars mirrors rounded frequency bars around a center line and brightens each bar with its amplitude. Radial wraps that same frequency reading into a slowly rotating ring with the title in the middle. Scope is a time-domain oscilloscope: it traces the raw waveform with a soft afterglow, so punchy, transient-heavy material reads best.

If you want to understand the frequency shape of a track before you visualize it, the spectrogram analyzer shows it in detail, and the song key and BPM finder pulls the key and tempo from the same kind of in-browser analysis.

Export formats

Export Formats: MP4 First, WebM Fallback

Exports are MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, the exact combination TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube want, so the file uploads as-is with no conversion step. This works through the WebCodecs API, which gives the browser real video and audio encoders, with the MP4 muxed together locally: still no server, still nothing uploaded. Current Chrome and Edge support it fully; Safari and Firefox support varies by version, and the tool tells you which format you will get next to the export button.

On browsers without MP4 encoding, the tool falls back to the live recorder, which captures through the MediaRecorder API and outputs WebM (VP9 or VP8 with Opus audio). YouTube accepts WebM directly; for TikTok and Instagram, drop the WebM into a free editor like CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, HandBrake, or VLC and export MP4 in seconds.

Performance

Offline Rendering, Faster Than Realtime

The MP4 export does not play the track back to capture it. It decodes the whole file up front, recomputes the exact frequency and waveform analysis for every frame, draws each frame with the same preset code the preview uses, and pushes them straight into the encoder. That renders as fast as your machine allows, typically several times faster than realtime, with a progress bar and a live speed readout while it runs. The Record live option still captures the canvas and audio in real time to WebM, which is the way to grab just a section: press Record, let the part you want play through, and press Stop.
